Why Epilepsy Centers of Excellence?

We are here to improve the health and well-being of Veterans with epilepsy and other seizure disorders.

How Do We Help Veterans with Seizures?

* We use the latest diagnostic equipment and techniques.
* We use state-of-the-art treatments.
* We educate Veterans and their physicians about seizures and epilepsy.
* We do research to find better ways to diagnose and treat epilepsy and seizures.

About Us

The Southeast Regional Epilepsy Centers of Excellence (SE ECoE) is one of four regional epilepsy centers. Throughout these four regions, there are 16 Epilepsy Centers of Excellence. In the Southeast Region there are 4 Epilepsy Centers of Excellence and 11 consortium members. Even though we mainly serve Veterans in the areas shown on the map, we can take referrals from anywhere in the VA system. We have a staff of epileptologists (neurologists who specialize in epilepsy), nurse practitioners, nurses, and specialized EEG technicians.
