Objective: Educate health care providers about the applications of medical statistics in research and clinical decision making process. Use of statistics is inevitable in medical research and the accurate interpretation of statistical results may pose a challenge for healthcare providers. In this course statistical terms will be introduced and different techniques for data analysis will be discussed. At the end of the course a medical health care provider should be able to carry out basic statistical analysis and also examine the merit of presented statistical material in research papers.
Target Audience: Health care providers interested in research opportunities or those looking for a better grasp of statistics for understanding the value of information shared in research documents.
Please note that continuing education credits will be awarded for participation in each individual course by completing the required evaluation form. Participants are encouraged but not required to participate in the complete series; credit can be awarded for participation in individual courses. The course will be accredited for Physicians and Nurses (ACCME, ACCME-NP, ANCC, CA-BRN). VA employees must register for courses through VA Talent Management System (TMS).
